From the founder
I took the photo on an ordinary Tuesday. She was sitting at the back door with her penguin, looking out at the garden. I don't know what she was thinking. I stood there for a long time just watching her.
I thought about how one day she'd be standing at a different door, looking out at something much bigger. And the penguin wouldn't be there. And neither would I. Not in the same way.
The toy is everything I've been to her. The safe thing. The constant. The thing she reaches for without thinking — because I taught her, without words, that love is something you can hold onto.
Moments pass. But what you put into them doesn't.
I made Still & Far because I wanted that moment on a wall. Not as a photo. As something that looked like art to everyone else — but held everything to me. That is what every piece we make does. It holds a secret. The room sees the art. You see everything you gave them.
